57 Clubs Competes in NRFA 2024/2025 Division Two League

The Northern Regional Football Association has revealed that 57 clubs would compete in this season’s NRFA 2024/2025 division two league for a qualification spot in the Access Bank Division One League next season.

To ease transportation cost on the clubs, the NRFA decided to group the 57 clubs into 8 zones, each zone comprising not less than 6 clubs. The Eastern Corridor Zone, which is zone seven has the largest clubs composition with 9, while the lowest is zone 3 with 6 clubs.

The league is scheduled to begin on the weekends of 24th to 26th October, 2024 across all match venues.

It’s worth noting that the NRFA has tremendously reduced the number of clubs in the second division as they aim to at least have 30 or less competing clubs to make it attractive and also attract investors.

So far, it has worked well as over 15 clubs got relegated since the NRFA enforced that rule.

With many clubs primary motive is to gain qualifications to the DOL, another exciting football awaits us in the coming days as the teams battle each other for glory.
