Premier League powerhouse, Liverpool are considering triggering Mohammed Kudus’ release clause this summer to replace Mohamed Salah after a potential a departure from the club to the Saudi Pro League after rejecting an offer in the winter transfer window according to reports in the UK.
Dean Jones, a UK-based journalist said Kudus has an exit clause in his contract with West Ham, which Liverpool must activate to sign the young midfielder if they they need him.
“It’s very difficult to get a clear gauge on the terms of any release clause that is in the contract as no one involved is really confirming anything,” Jones stated. “The foundations of the story seem concrete so my hunch is to believe that there is a trigger-figure involved somewhere along the line.”
“It’ll be interesting to find out what the level of it is and when it kicks in. If it is reasonable then you can imagine he might open up as a potential target for Liverpool, if Salah does end up leaving after all” He added.
Before Kudus joined West Ham United, he was linked to Chelsea, Arsenal and Brighton.
