Black Starlets manager Laryea Kingston has expressed gratitude towards the KGL Foundation for their significant contributions to the development of youth football in Ghana.
Kingston credited the KGL Under-17 Regional Tournament for aiding in the identification and selection of talented players for the national Under-17 team.
Following his team’s strong performance against Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship opener, Kingston highlighted the importance of the KGL tournament in nurturing young talent.
He acknowledged that a substantial portion of his current squad, around 8 or 9 players, had emerged from the KGL tournament.
“Thank to KGL for their massive support. When I got to the country, I was lucky they had partnered with the GFA to develop a tournament that brings together our best Under-17 Colts players; and trust me, this particular group of players have about 8 players from the KGL tournament,” Laryea said after the game.
“So, for me the journey started very early and we are grateful to the GFA and KGL for their massive assistance,” he added.
Kingston emphasized that his journey with these players began early, thanks to the platform provided by the KGL Foundation.
He expressed appreciation to both the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the KGL Foundation for their significant support and assistance in fostering youth football development in the country.
The KGL Foundation serves as the official sponsor of juvenile football in Ghana, offering a generous $1 million sponsorship package over five years.
