Ghana defender, Mohammed Salisu has charged his his teammates to take their preparations seriously as they gear up to face Mali.
The Black Stars will play the Eagles in the Matchday three games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on June 6 at the Stade du 26 Mars on Thursday, June 6.
All Black Stars players invited for these games have reported in camp as the team continues preparations. The four-time African champions held their first training session at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Friday with fans and media available.
Mohammed Salisu in an interview with the media stressed on the difficulty of the upcoming match in Bamako.
“We just need to train day by day [because] it is not going to be easy with Mali. They have a strong team and I think we need to prepare for this game,” he said.
The former Rayo Valladolid defender remains confident that the team can secure the necessary victory against Mali on Thursday in Bamako.
Ghana will return home to host the Central African Republic in another qualifier on Monday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, on June 10th.
Ghana, who sit 4th in Group I will hope to record wins in the games as they hope to secure qualification for the Mundial.
