Hausa win penalty shootout thriller against Songhai.

Abodou’s winning spot kick capped an epic penalty shootout as Hausa triumphed over Songhai in the round of 16 clash on Saturday.

Songhai’s Christian scored a beautiful header to give his team a dream start, but Mujeeb’s powerful header just before halftime sent the game to penalties.

Hausa, who had kept a clean sheet in their previous three games, found themselves behind just 10 minutes in.

However, Mujeeb’s equalizer in the 36th minute brought the score to 1-1 at halftime.

The second half was filled with drama as both teams pushed for the winner.

Despite Songhai’s tight defense, Hausa had two great chances to seal the win, but penalties decided the outcome.

Hausa’s keeper saved Songhai’s seventh penalty, setting the stage for Abodou’s winning strike.

Hausa will face Waala in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Mohammed Ibrahim of Hausa was named Man of the Match.
