FC Samartex assistant captain Ebenezer Acquah said the team has shifted its focus to their second leg fixture in their 2024/25 CAF Champions League first preliminary round tie in Accra following their win in Cameroon.
The Ghanaian champions defeated Cameroon’s Victoria United 1-0 away in Douala and will conclude the tie this coming weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 25 year old who was the captain of the team in Cameroon said the match was a difficult battle that they were able to overcome with divine assistance.
“It was a great battle. A game of immense importance for us as debutants, but we are thankful to God for securing the victory in the first leg. We will set this aside to concentrate on the second leg,” Acquah said as quoted by his club.
The second leg of the fixture will be played next Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium with the winner of the this match facing either Morocco’s Raja Casablanca or Niger’s AS GNN in the second round.
