Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea have been charged with a breach of Section 16 of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Code, 2019, following their Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The charges centered on the club failure to ensure the safety of their opponent and the match officials during and after game, and that their supporters behaved inappropriate Berekum Golden City Park, which saw both teams squared in a 1-1 draw.
According to the Ghana Football Association, Berekum Chelsea has until Wednesday, October 2, 2024, to respond to these charges with the club’s management is expected to address the allegations and outline any mitigating circumstances they believe should be considered.
The outcome of this disciplinary action could affect the club’s reputation and also complicate their also for their ongoing campaign in the Ghana Premier League as a possible ban or heavy fine will come on their way.
