GHALCA Pays Working Visit to Sports Minister Hon. Kofi Adams

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), led by its Chairman, Mr. John Kofi Ansah, has paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, at the ministry on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

The visit was aimed at introducing the newly elected GHALCA executives to the minister and congratulating him on his appointment. During the meeting, Mr. Ansah outlined GHALCA’s key events for the year, including the President’s Cup, First Lady’s Cup, and the Top 4 tournament.

He also took the opportunity to appeal to the minister to lobby parliament for a tax rebate on imported sports equipment for clubs and a review of VAT charges on gate proceeds, which he believes would ease the financial burden on clubs and promote sports development.

In response, Hon. Kofi Adams expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended GHALCA for their commitment to the growth of Ghana football. He assured the executives that he would engage relevant stakeholders to discuss the issues raised and explore ways to revive interest in the local game.

The meeting marked an important step towards collaboration between GHALCA and the Ministry of Sports, as both parties seek to enhance football administration and development in Ghana.
