Asempa FM’s Kobby Stonne Elected External Affairs Commissioner of UniMAC SRC

Sports journalist and media personality with the Multimedia Group Limited, Alex Kobina “Kobby” Stonne, has been elected External Affairs Commissioner of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) following the 2026 SRC elections.

Stonne secured a convincing victory, polling 708 votes, representing 68.14 per cent of the total votes cast. The election was widely commended for its transparency, peaceful conduct and credibility, reflecting the maturity and democratic commitment of the UniMAC student body.

Widely known for his energetic presence on Asempa FM, Adom FM and Adom TV, Stonne’s entry into student leadership marks a significant transition from mainstream sports media to campus governance. His election is expected to strengthen UniMAC’s external engagement, drawing on his extensive media experience and professional networks to elevate the university’s profile and foster strategic partnerships.

The SRC Electoral Commission praised students for their discipline and orderly conduct throughout the electoral process, noting the high level of participation and respect for democratic principles.

Other notable outcomes from the elections saw Moses Desire Kuoyo elected SRC President with 554 votes (53.32 per cent), Thomas Amankwah Fosuhene winning the General Secretary position with 826 votes (79.50 per cent), and Anthony Agboli securing the Financial Secretary role with 797 votes (76.71 per cent).

Speaking shortly after the announcement of results, Stonne expressed appreciation to the students for their confidence in him.
“I am humbled by the trust my fellow students have placed in me. I pledge to serve with humility, professionalism and a solutions-driven mindset, with a strong focus on strengthening UniMAC’s external relations,” he said.

The newly elected SRC executives are expected to assume office in line with the UniMAC SRC Constitution, ushering in a renewed and energetic approach to student governance. With his trademark passion and media savvy, Stonne is widely tipped to make a meaningful impact in his new role, as UniMAC looks ahead with optimism and ambition.
