Asante Kotoko suffered a defeat to rivals Hearts of Oak in Matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Following the loss, discussions and opinions about the club’s current situation have flooded social media and the public space, with fans, journalists, former players, and club legends all sharing their views. The latest to add his voice is former Asante Kotoko forward Ahmed Simba Toure, who has made himself available to be part of the club’s recruitment team ahead of the upcoming season.
Taking to his Facebook page, the Ivorian—now a football agent—expressed his readiness to assist his former club in player recruitment both locally and internationally, as he believes he can help Kotoko return to their glory days.
🗣️ “I am ready to be part of the team in the best way possible if they give me the chance to handle recruitment in Ghana and outside Ghana as well,” he stated.
Kotoko currently find themselves in a difficult position. Head coach Prince Owusu has already admitted that winning the league will be very challenging, while the club has also been knocked out of the MTN FA Cup following their elimination by Aduana Stars.
The Porcupine Warriors sit 5th on the Ghana Premier League table with 39 points after 22 matches and will next travel away to face Young Apostles on Sunday.
