The Black Starlets maintained their steady momentum ahead of continental duty after recording a 2-0 win over Semper Fi in a friendly encounter played on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match was the second assignment of the day for the young Ghanaian side, following their earlier narrow success against Port City FC. It also marked their fourth test match in the space of two weeks, highlighting the coaching staff’s clear focus on improving sharpness, rhythm, and team understanding as preparations intensify for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this April.
Ghana took command of proceedings early, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute when Clement Agyei climbed highest to connect with a precise delivery, directing a powerful header into the net. The early breakthrough allowed the Starlets to settle into their passing game and control the tempo.
Just before the interval, Gab Beng Amponsah extended the lead with a moment of individual brilliance, outpacing his marker before calmly finishing past the onrushing goalkeeper to put the Starlets firmly in charge at halftime.
After the break, Semper Fi—currently second in Zone 3 of the Division One League—showed improved organisation at the back, closing down spaces and frustrating Ghana’s attacking efforts. Their defensive discipline ensured no further goals were added, as the Starlets comfortably managed the remainder of the contest to seal another positive outing.
