Aduana FC were unable to turn dominance into goals on Sunday afternoon after being frustrated in a goalless stalemate with Hohoe United FC at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park.
The Fire Boys came into the Matchweek 23 fixture riding a four-game unbeaten streak and were eager to strengthen their impressive run in front of their home crowd. From the opening whistle, they dictated the tempo, enjoying greater control of possession and patiently working the ball around the Hohoe half.
Despite their bright start and territorial superiority, clear opportunities were limited. Hohoe’s defensive unit remained organised and compact, closing down spaces quickly and forcing Aduana to attempt efforts from distance rather than carving open the backline.
The first half developed into a tactical battle, with the visitors prioritising structure and discipline over adventure going forward. Their game plan paid off as they successfully neutralised Aduana’s attacking threats before the break.
After halftime, the hosts increased urgency, committing more players into advanced areas in search of the opener. The pressure mounted, but Hohoe’s goalkeeper, supported by a resolute defence, produced key blocks and timely clearances to preserve parity.
While Hohoe offered glimpses of danger on the counter, they struggled to consistently test the Aduana defence. Nevertheless, their resilience and defensive organisation ensured they left Dormaa with a hard-earned point.
For Aduana, the draw extends their unbeaten sequence but will feel like two points dropped given their control of proceedings. Hohoe, meanwhile, will view the result as a morale-boosting outcome as they continue their fight to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
