Interim trainer Prince Yaw Owusu insists he is untroubled by growing calls for his removal following Asante Kotoko’s latest slip in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko were unable to break down a resilient Vision FC side reduced to ten men, settling for a frustrating goalless encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium on Matchday 24. The result has intensified debate among sections of the club’s supporters, with some questioning the direction of the team.
Owusu, who stepped into the role after the departure of Karim Zito, has overseen only three matches so far. Despite the mounting scrutiny, he maintains that speculation about his future does not distract him from his duties.
“They are free to call for it — that decision rests with management,” Owusu stated calmly after the final whistle. “I’m focused on doing my work. Whatever decision they take, I will respect it.”
He reiterated that his priority remains improving performances on the pitch rather than engaging with external pressure.
Kotoko currently sit fourth in the standings with 39 points as the title race tightens. Attention now shifts to their next assignment, a Matchday 25 clash against Karela United, where Owusu will be aiming to guide the Porcupine Warriors back to winning ways.
