Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, believes his side still has work to do despite picking up a point in their stalemate against Basake Holy Stars in Matchweek 25 of the Ghana Premier League.
The two sides settled for a goalless draw at the University of Ghana Stadium, with the Phobians unable to make the most of several scoring opportunities created during the match.
Although Hearts of Oak looked the more threatening side going forward, poor decision-making in the final third prevented them from turning their chances into goals.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare played a crucial role for the Phobians, producing a number of vital saves to deny Basake Holy Stars and ensure his team avoided defeat. His performance once again highlighted why he is widely regarded as Ghana’s current number-one goalkeeper.
After the match, Dramani admitted his team is still developing and must become more composed when making key decisions during games.
“We still need to improve in our decision-making. I still think it is still work in progress,” the coach said.
He also acknowledged that the match could easily have gone the other way, adding that securing at least a point was ultimately a positive outcome for his side.
“The game, we could have also lost the game, and so it is always better to have just a point rather than not having a point at all.”
Following the result, Hearts of Oak remain third on the league table with 42 points. Their focus now shifts to their next league fixture against Heart of Lions in Kpando.
