Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his impressive form in the EFL Championship after scoring in Coventry City’s comfortable 3–0 victory over Preston North End.
Playing in an advanced attacking role, Thomas-Asante played a key part in Coventry’s dominant display at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The hosts took an early lead in the 17th minute through Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, who finished off a well-worked move to put Coventry in front.
Thomas-Asante later extended the advantage in the 34th minute, timing his run into the penalty area before calmly finishing to double the home side’s lead.
Coventry continued to control the match after the break, and their third goal arrived shortly into the second half. Matt Grimes converted from the penalty spot in the 50th minute to effectively seal the win for the Sky Blues.
Under the guidance of head coach Frank Lampard, Coventry managed the remainder of the match well, limiting Preston to few clear opportunities while remaining dangerous on the counterattack.
Thomas-Asante’s strike means the Ghanaian attacker now has 11 goals and four assists in 24 Championship appearances during the 2025/26 season.
The win strengthens Coventry City’s push for promotion as they prepare for their next league match against Southampton FC on March 14.
