Karim Zito has reaffirmed his deep connection with Asante Kotoko, insisting that his departure from the club has not changed his loyalty to the Porcupine Warriors.
The former Kotoko coach, who currently manages Ashanti Gold SC, reflected on his long history with the Kumasi-based club during an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM.
Zito spent more than a decade as a player at Kotoko and was part of several successful periods in the club’s history.
“At the end of the day, I’m a legend. I played for this club for over 10 years and won a lot with them. Why should I hate it?” he said.
The experienced coach also pointed out that managerial changes are part of football and should not overshadow the club’s legacy.
“This is not my first time coming to Kotoko and leaving, and I won’t be the last coach. The club has a legacy, and it must be respected.”
Zito’s remarks highlight the emotional connection many former players and coaches maintain with Kotoko, one of the most successful clubs in Ghanaian football history.
