Marvin Senaya is poised to make his debut for the Ghana national football team after choosing to represent the country over Togo national football team.
The defender, who plays in France for AJ Auxerre, had attracted interest from both nations and was named in their respective squads for this month’s international window.
Despite Togo moving first with a call-up, Ghana’s late inclusion of the player in their squad appears to have sealed the decision in their favour.
Senaya has reportedly been encouraged by fellow Ghana internationals Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu, who are also at Auxerre and played a role in his decision.
The Black Stars are preparing for friendly matches against Austria national football team on March 27 and Germany national football team on March 30, where Senaya could get his first opportunity to feature.
His decision is seen as a boost for Ghana as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of upcoming international competitions
