“It’s the right decision, but still inadequate” – Mas-Ud Didi Dramani on Ghana Football Association technical shake-up

Former Ghana assistant coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has welcomed recent changes to the Black Stars’ technical team but insists more needs to be done ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana Football Association recently strengthened the backroom staff by appointing new personnel, including Alain Ravera and Kim Lars Bjorkegren as assistant coaches.

Additional reinforcements include analyst Jose Daniel Martinez Alfonso, physiotherapist Carlos Lozano Romero, and performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi.

While Dramani, now head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak SC, supports the move, he believes the technical structure remains insufficient.

“It’s the right decision, but still inadequate in my opinion. The World Cup presents an opportunity for learning and growth, so more hands are needed, both behind the scenes and on the bench,” he said.

He further highlighted that limited resources have often left national teams understaffed, an issue he believes must be addressed to compete at the highest level.

The Black Stars are currently preparing for international friendlies against Austria national football team and Germany national football team, key fixtures aimed at fine-tuning the squad ahead of the global tournament.
