“Now is the time to look at him” – Charles Akonnor urges Otto Addo to consider Enoch Morrison

Head coach of Gor Mahia F.C., Charles Akonnor, has called on Otto Addo to hand midfielder Enoch Morrison a chance with the Ghana national football team.

The former Asante Kotoko SC player has been in outstanding form in the Kenyan top-flight, registering an impressive 15 Man-of-the-Match performances in just 25 appearances this season.

His influence has been key to Gor Mahia’s dominance, with the club sitting top of the league table with 56 points, comfortably ahead of their closest challengers.

Despite his red-hot form, Morrison was overlooked for Ghana’s current squad preparing for friendlies against Austria national football team and Germany national football team.

Akonnor, however, believes the time has come for the midfielder to be seriously considered.

“He’s not been in the picture for a long time, probably because of his performances, and now he’s doing very well, so maybe now they can start to look at him in that aspect,” he said.

While competition for places in midfield remains intense, Morrison’s current form has firmly put him on the radar as Ghana continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
