Otto Addo has called for a major improvement in intensity from his players following Ghana’s heavy 5-1 loss to Austria national football team.
The Black Stars boss was particularly critical of his team’s second-half display, insisting it fell far below the level required for a side preparing for the World Cup.
“Second half was really, really not good enough at all. Everybody is playing for the World Cup, and we need to play with more intensity. I expect much, much more against the ball,” Addo said.
Despite a promising first-half showing where Ghana created several chances, the team failed to capitalize, allowing Austria to take control after the break.
“Out of three or four situations, we at least should have scored one,” he added.
With a crucial friendly against Germany national football team coming up, Addo will be hoping for a sharper and more disciplined response from his side.
