Asamoah Gyan Explains Delay in Coaching Career Despite UEFA License

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has revealed why he has yet to venture into coaching, despite possessing the required qualifications to take up a role in the dugout.

The former striker, widely regarded as one of Ghana’s greatest footballers, says coaching demands a level of dedication he is not ready to commit to at this stage of his life.

Speaking in an interview, Gyan explained that his current focus is on business rather than football management.

“Coaching is all about dedication. When you go into it, you need to give your time fully, especially to develop players,” he said.

Although he holds a UEFA License B, the ex-Sunderland AFC and Al Ain FC forward believes he cannot combine coaching with his other commitments.

“I have the license, but I’m not into coaching because I have businesses to attend to. You need full focus to coach properly,” he added.

Gyan enjoyed a distinguished playing career, representing the Ghana national football team at three World Cups, 2006 FIFA World Cup, 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2014 FIFA World Cup, and remains one of the country’s most iconic football figures.

For now, Gyan appears content focusing on life beyond the pitch, leaving the possibility of a future coaching career open but not immediate.
