Kwesi Nyantakyi has donated cash, food items and football equipment to inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison as part of a charity outreach initiative aimed at supporting rehabilitation through sport.
The former Ghana Football Association president made the donation during the second edition of an outreach programme organised by the KN Foundation in collaboration with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana and the Ghana Football Association.
Items presented to the inmates included GH¢20,000 in cash support, 100 bags of rice, 50 packs of bottled water, 30 sets of jerseys, 49 hose sets and 29 footballs.
The event brought together former footballers, football officials and members of the media as part of efforts to encourage social reintegration and provide hope for inmates through football-related activities.
Organisers explained that the initiative seeks to use sport and community support programmes to positively impact the lives of inmates and aid their transition back into society.
The outreach also forms part of broader efforts by football stakeholders and corporate partners to promote social responsibility and community development beyond the game.
