Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has addressed concerns surrounding Thomas Partey’s inclusion in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup amid ongoing rape allegations involving the midfielder.
The Portuguese tactician was asked during a media engagement ahead of Ghana’s friendly against Wales why he had selected Partey despite the allegations that have generated widespread discussion among supporters and the media.
Rather than offering a lengthy explanation, Queiroz responded with a cryptic message.
“Let the river flow and one day when the river meets the ocean, we’re going to find the truth,” he said.
The response appeared to suggest that the Ghana coach believes the full facts surrounding the matter will eventually emerge, while avoiding further comment on the issue.
Queiroz’s decision to include Partey in the squad has divided opinion, with some supporters backing the midfielder’s selection while others have questioned whether he should be part of the team amid the allegations.
The Black Stars coach, however, declined to elaborate further as Ghana continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
