Black Stars Observe Salatul Jumu’ah Ahead of Crucial Croatia Clash

Several Muslim players of the Black Stars observed Salatul Jumu’ah at the Markhazul Qur’an Mosque in Philadelphia on Friday, ahead of Ghana’s final Group L match against Eastern European side Croatia.

The prayers were led by Prof. Kinsh Bashiru Yando, a Ghanaian Islamic scholar based in Philadelphia.

Taking advantage of the significance of Friday in Islam, the Muslim members of the squad offered prayers in gratitude for Ghana’s journey so far and sought Allah’s guidance and success in the team’s remaining matches.

Ghana will face Croatia in Philadelphia on Saturday. A victory for the Black Stars, coupled with a slip-up by England against Panama, would see Ghana finish top of Group L with seven points.
