Ghana midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah says the Black Queens are fully prepared and eager to begin their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign, expressing confidence in the team’s readiness ahead of their opening fixture against Cape Verde.
The midfielder, speaking at Ghana’s pre-match press conference, highlighted the hard work the squad has put in over the past few weeks and believes the players are in the right frame of mind heading into the tournament.
“The girls are really excited for the start of the tournament. We’ve prepared very well. We had a good time out here last year, and now we’re prepared to do our job,” Boye-Hlorkah said.
Ghana returns to Morocco hoping to build on the progress made during previous camps, with optimism growing within the squad ahead of another shot at continental success. The Black Queens are targeting a strong start that could set the tone for the rest of their campaign.
The Black Queens will begin their Group D campaign against Cape Verde before taking on Cameroon and Mali, as they chase a place in the knockout stage and a return to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
