Abubakar Adams Fires Aduana FC to Victory Over AshantiGold

Aduana FC bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to claim a 1-0 win over FC AshantiGold 04 at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday.

Abubakar Adams proved the difference between the two sides, scoring in the 40th minute to secure all three points for the Ogya Boys in their Matchweek 7 encounter.

The decisive moment followed a free-kick from Seidu Saana just outside the penalty area. The AshantiGold goalkeeper could not hold the powerful effort, and Adams reacted quickly to the rebound to send the ball into the net.

The goal gave Aduana the advantage before half-time, and the home side worked to protect their lead after the break. Despite the closely fought nature of the contest, neither team managed to add to the scoreline.

Aduana entered the match looking to recover from a 1-0 loss to regional rivals Young Apostles, which had brought their three-game winning streak to an end. Sunday’s result offered a timely response and renewed momentum as they continue their league campaign.

AshantiGold, meanwhile, could not replicate the form that earned them a 1-0 victory over FC Samartex in Obuasi the previous weekend. Their hopes of salvaging a result in Dormaa suffered another blow when Akwasi Afari was sent off late in the match.

Reduced to ten men, the visitors struggled to find a way back into the game, while Aduana held firm to preserve their narrow advantage until the final whistle.

The victory gives Aduana a valuable boost after their recent setback, while AshantiGold will need to regroup ahead of their next fixture after leaving Dormaa without a point.
