Accra Lions winger, Evans Botchway, has secured a move to Swedish top-tier side IF Brommapojkarna.
The 18-year-old has inked a permanent deal with Brommapojkarna following his impressive performances for the Ghana Premier League outfit.
Botchway rose through the ranks to join Lions’ first team in 2023, amassing 19 appearances and netting two goals in the top-flight competition.
Renowned for his blistering pace and dazzling dribbling abilities, the young talent emerged as one of the most formidable wingers in the league, frequently wreaking havoc on opposition defenses.
“What stands out is of course his speed, everyone can see it, but he has several fine offensive qualities that we will benefit from in the long term,” said Philip Berglund, the club’s Sports Manager.
“Now he will have time to land and acclimatize in our environment,” he added.
While showcasing his prowess domestically, Botchway also represented Ghana’s U20 squad, contributing two goals in three appearances for the Black Satellites.
However, his participation in the African Games was thwarted due to his impending move to the European club.
Having made a notable impact this season with three appearances for Accra Lions before departing for Europe, Botchway’s transition to IF Brommapojkarna marks a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
