Aduana FC have been dealt a significant setback after confirming that striker Mezack Afriyie has suffered a serious injury that will sideline him for several weeks.
The 22-year-old forward sustained a fibula fracture during training, ruling him out for approximately six weeks at a decisive stage of the 2025/26 campaign.
In an official statement posted on the club’s Facebook page, Aduana FC confirmed:
“We can confirm that Mizack Afriyie has suffered a fibula fracture during training.
Medical examinations indicate he is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks.
Setbacks are set-ups for comebacks – Mizack, stay strong. We’re all behind you.”
Afriyie joined the Fire Club ahead of the ongoing season from Berekum Chelsea and has featured prominently in the squad. Although he has scored once in 20 league appearances, his work rate and attacking presence have made him an important figure in the team’s setup.
His absence comes at a crucial moment, with Aduana FC currently sitting fourth on the Ghana Premier League table with 37 points, just seven behind the leaders, while also preparing for a demanding FA Cup quarter-final fixture.
The injury forces the technical team to reshuffle attacking options as the club pushes to stay firmly in the title conversation.
Afriyie is expected to begin rehabilitation immediately, with hopes of returning before the business end of the season.
