Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has reaffirmed his commitment to the Ghana national team, insisting he remains determined to give his all whenever he is called upon despite approaching the latter stages of his international career.
The experienced centre-back said his focus is still on helping the Black Stars while also using his experience to support the next generation of players coming through the national team setup.
“I don’t know, I try to give the best of me and show them what I can do, but maybe one time I will not be like I am now, and it will be the moment to stop.”
The Ex-Fenerbahce defender stressed that he still feels physically and mentally ready to represent Ghana and has no plans to step away from international football anytime soon.
“But for now I feel very good, I feel happy. I try to give my experience for the young people who are coming, and then we will see year by year, competition after competition.”
Djiku remains one of the senior figures in the Black Stars squad and is expected to play a key leadership role as Ghana prepares for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where the four-time African champions have been drawn in Group C alongside Ivory Coast, Somalia and The Gambia.
