Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, continued their preparations for upcoming assignments with a training match against Attram De Visser Football Club at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The friendly served as part of the team’s build-up programme as they fine-tune their squad ahead of future competitions. Attram De Visser secured a narrow 2-1 win in a closely contested encounter that offered valuable assessment for both sides.
Speaking after the game, Black Starlets assistant coach Nana Kwame outlined the team’s selection philosophy, stressing that the technical team is currently prioritising players competing in the local leagues.
He explained that while the door is not closed to Ghanaian players based abroad, such players must first report to the national team camp and demonstrate their quality before being considered.
“I wouldn’t say no to any Ghanaian player. However, our focus at the moment is on players here in Ghana,” he said.
“Any player from abroad who wishes to play for the team must come and join the boys in camp and prove himself before earning a call-up.”
The Black Starlets are expected to continue their preparations as they gear up for their next international assignment.
