Asante Kotoko part ways with Midfielder Abdul Rashid Nortey

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and midfielder Rashid Nortey are expected to part ways by mutual consent.

After a disappointing run in the Ghana Premier League, the Ghanaian giants has now turned their focus towards the 2024/25 season with a major squad overhaul.

The Porcupine Warriors has so far ended their marriage with eighteen players to make way for new additions ahead of the new campaign.

According to reports, both Kotoko and Nortey have agreed to go separate ways ahead of next season, making him the nineteenth player to exit the club this window.

The Ghana Premier League giants finished the season in sixth position, ending the campaign without a trophy.

Nortey signed for Kotoko in August 2023 after leaving Medeama SC as a free agent following the expiration of his contract.

His adventure with the Porcupine Warriors was plagued by injuries, failing to make a meaningful impact at the club.

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder managed just seven appearances for Kotoko in the second half of last term and scored once as injury ruled him out for some months.
