Asante Kotoko SC will be back at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 1, as they prepare to face Vision FC in a Matchweek 24 Ghana Premier League clash expected to draw significant attention.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the fixture hoping to build on the confidence gained from their recent victory, which ended a frustrating two-match losing streak. Although their campaign has been inconsistent at times, the last win is seen as a possible turning point in their push to revive their title ambitions.
Kotoko returned to winning ways with a 0-2 away triumph over Young Apostles, a result that provided a much-needed morale boost. The breakthrough came early when Johnson Oppong Owusu powered home a superb header just six minutes into the contest. The visitors doubled their advantage ten minutes later after a forced own goal compounded the pressure on the home side in Wenchi.
Despite facing a second-half fightback, Kotoko held firm to secure the three points. Goals from Mohammed Sam-An and Meshack Adjetey were initially cancelled out by Augustine Okrah’s brace, but Ibrahim Larbi’s effort ultimately restored Kotoko’s lead and sealed the victory.
Currently sitting 10th on the league table with 30 points after 23 matches, the Ewuo Keke side will be aiming to continue their improved form and climb further up the standings.
Sunday’s encounter will kick off at 3:00pm GMT and will be broadcast on TV3, Onua TV and Max TV.
