Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah remained positive despite his side’s 3-0 defeat to Nations FC in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 25 encounter on Friday.
The Hunters travelled to Abrankese to face Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex but were unable to cope with the hosts, who produced a clinical display to secure all three points.
Nations FC took control of the contest and made their chances count, with Emmanuel Annor opening the scoring before Brandon Antwi added the second. Richard Danso later capitalized to complete the victory and condemn the visitors to a heavy defeat.
Reflecting on the result after the match, Amissah admitted that the outcome was not entirely unexpected given the advantage enjoyed by the home side.
According to the Bechem United trainer, the biggest disappointment was the size of the scoreline, as he believed his players could have done more to prevent conceding three goals.
“So far so good. The score margin is our problem, but the defeat is not a surprise because they played at home and had everything at their disposal. We did well in the second half, so better luck next time for us,” Amissah said.
The loss leaves Bechem United in 13th position on the Ghana Premier League table with nine matches remaining in the season. Amissah and his squad will be aiming to bounce back quickly as they fight to gather enough points to steer clear of the relegation battle.
