Angry Asante Kotoko fans stormed the club’s training grounds on Tuesday to stop head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his team from training.
The Porcupine Warriors who are currently under pressure for their recent poor performance has faced a lot of backlash after their defeat against Dreams FC in Dawu making it their seventh defeat in Ten matches.
There were a lot of confusion at the club’s training ground in Adako Jachie as the angry fans prevent head coach Dr. Ogum and his players from entering the grounds to training.
Asante Kotoko have picked just a point from their last seven matches, leaving them only three points away from the relegation zone.
Currently sitting in 11th place, their worst-ever run in their Ghanaian top-flight, which triggered the frustrated fans to demand for a change in their technical staff with a swift replacement if that happened.
Despite attempts by the head of the IMC, Nana Appiah Apinkra, to calm the fans, they remained steadfast, insisting on a coaching staff change.
Consequently, players were unable to proceed with training, leaving the club in uncertainty.
As the situation unfolds, the club is yet to release an official statement, leaving fans and stakeholders eager for further developments.
Asante Kotoko plays GPL leaders, Samatex 1996 in their next league match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday 21th April.
