The 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup group stage has officially come to an end. The competition featured four groups—Groups A to D—with four teams in each group, making a total of 16 teams.
After six rounds of group-stage matches, eight teams have qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Group A consisted of USM Alger, OC Safi, Djoliba AC, and San Pedro.
USM Alger topped the group with 14 points, finishing as group winners. OC Safi followed closely in second place with 13 points to also secure qualification. Djoliba AC and San Pedro were eliminated after managing just 4 and 3 points respectively.
Group B featured Wydad AC, Maniema Union, Azam FC, and Nairobi United.
Wydad AC showed their class by winning the group with a perfect 15 points from five matches.
Maniema Union finished second with 12 points to advance. Azam FC narrowly missed out despite collecting 9 points, while Nairobi United endured a difficult campaign, finishing bottom with zero points.
Group C included CR Belouizdad, AS Otohô, Singida Black Stars, and Stellenbosch FC.
CR Belouizdad lived up to expectations by finishing top of the group with 15 points. AS Otohô followed in second place with 9 points. Singida Black Stars and Stellenbosch FC both finished with 5 points each, which was not enough to secure qualification.
Group D proved to be the most competitive group of the tournament, featuring some of Africa’s most iconic clubs: Zamalek, Al Masry, Kaizer Chiefs, and ZESCO United.
Zamalek finished top of the group with 11 points. Al Masry and Kaizer Chiefs both ended the group stage with 10 points apiece, but Al Masry progressed to the quarter-finals on goal difference, having a superior +2 compared to Chiefs’ +1. ZESCO United were eliminated after finishing with 3 points.
The draw for the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals will be conducted in the coming days.
