Guinea international hopeful Mohammed Camara has once again been rewarded for his steady performances at club level with a call-up to the national team for the March international break.
The Asante Kotoko shot-stopper is part of the Syli Nationale squad set to engage in friendly matches against Togo and Benin later this month. The fixtures form part of Guinea’s preparations as they fine-tune the squad ahead of upcoming competitive assignments.
This invitation represents Camara’s second appearance in the senior national team setup. He earned his maiden call-up in November last year when Guinea faced Liberia and Niger, marking an important milestone in his growing career.
At club level, the towering goalkeeper continues to serve as Kotoko’s first-choice custodian. Despite facing criticism from some supporters, particularly following the Super Clash against rivals Hearts of Oak. Camara has maintained his focus and composure between the posts.
He delivered a strong response in Kotoko’s most recent outing against Vision FC, where his impressive display earned him the Man of the Match award and helped the Porcupine Warriors secure a valuable point at the Baba Yara Stadium.
With the upcoming friendlies on the horizon, Camara will be eager to make a lasting impression and strengthen his claim for a regular place in Guinea’s national team moving forward.
