Ghanaian winger Christopher Bonsu Baah provided an assist as Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah were held to a 1-1 draw by Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor FC in the AFC Champions League Elite on Monday.
The 21-year-old set up Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders to open the scoring in the 35th minute, giving Al Qadsiah the advantage after a promising attacking move. Bonsu Baah continued to threaten from the flank before being substituted in the 80th minute, with Suleman Sani coming on as the visitors sought to protect their lead.
However, Al Qadsiah were denied victory late in the game after a VAR review in the 87th minute resulted in a penalty for Pakhtakor. Dostonbek Khamdamov converted from the spot in the 89th minute to secure a share of the points for the hosts.
Despite the disappointing result, Bonsu Baah maintained his impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign. He has now recorded seven goal contributions in 11 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and providing five assists.
His latest assist came just days after he scored his first goal of the season in Al Qadsiah’s emphatic 5-0 league victory over Al-Kholood, further highlighting his growing influence in the Saudi Arabian side’s attack.
