Colts football Hero Saani Anokye ‘Dendem’ passes away

Renowned juvenile football coach and founder of Anokye Stars, Saani Anokye Dendem, has tragically passed away in Kumasi. The influential figure, credited with discovering numerous Ghanaian football talents, succumbed to illness at the age of 75.

Dendem was instrumental in the development of colts football in the Ashanti Region, nurturing a multitude of players who went on to achieve success in the sport.

His passing represents a significant loss for football in Ghana, given his immense impact and keen eye for talent.

Under his guidance, Ghana saw the rise of notable players such as Anthony Yeboah, Isaac Kwakye, Isaac Boakye, Adu Tutu Skelley, Osei Kwame Jnr., Stanley Aborah, Francis Akwaffo, Prince Polley, William Thompson, Bashiru Osman, and the legendary Bashiru Gambo.

Dendem’s contributions to Ghanaian football are immeasurable, and his influence has been widely acknowledged, with tributes pouring in on social media from those who were touched by his legacy.
