Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim has demonstrated his commitment to giving back to the community after donating a number of essential items to the Garden City Special School in Kumasi on Wednesday, August 26.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper donated drinks, Sachet water, rice, cooking oil, toilet paper and other items to the school in a gesture aimed at supporting the institution and its students.
Danlad is returning to his boyhood club for a second spell after spending two seasons with Ethiopian Premier League side Coffee Sport Club, where he made around 55 appearances and kept 28 clean sheets.
The goalkeeper began his professional career with Kotoko in 2016 but subsequently went out on loan to gain regular playing experience. He featured for Berekum Chelsea during the 2019/20 season before spending the following campaign with King Faisal.
In 2024, Danlad moved to Ethiopia to join Coffee SC, where he gained valuable experience before deciding to return to Kumasi. His time away has also added to his international experience, having represented Ghana at U-17, U-20, U-23 and senior level. He was part of Otto Addo’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Now back at Kotoko, Danlad brings a richer profile and valuable top-flight experience to Eric Tinkler’s squad. His return is expected to provide strong competition in the goalkeeping department as the Porcupine Warriors prepare for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season and their pursuit of domestic success.
