David Jnr Gyamfi produced a sensational first-half display, scoring a hat-trick as FC AshantiGold 04 defeated Vision FC 3-1 in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
The forward delivered an outstanding individual performance at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, scoring all three of AshantiGold’s goals to secure their first victory of the 2026/27 campaign.
Gyamfi needed just seven minutes to open the scoring after connecting with a brilliant pass before keeping his composure to beat the goalkeeper. Vision FC responded through Sherrif Mohammed Iddrisu, whose superb free-kick restored parity and gave the visitors hope of securing a result.
AshantiGold, however, quickly regained control as Gyamfi rose highest to head home his second goal of the afternoon. He completed his hat-trick before half-time with another excellent finish, giving the hosts a 3-1 advantage at the break.
The treble makes Gyamfi the first player to score a hat-trick in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, immediately putting his name among the early contenders for the Golden Boot. The victory also extends AshantiGold’s impressive home record, with the club now unbeaten in their last 15 league matches at the Len Clay Stadium, recording 12 wins and three draws.
The result gives Abdul Karim Zito’s side a major boost as they continue their return to the top flight. AshantiGold will travel to face Basake Holy Stars next, while Vision FC will look to respond when they host Medeama in their next league fixture.
