Dreams FC 0-1 Karela United: Dreams FC suffer shocking home defeat to Karela

Karela United left it late to secure a dramatic 1–0 victory over Dreams FC in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 22 clash at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday.

Just when the contest looked destined for a goalless stalemate, Ali Alhassan struck in stoppage time, tapping home from close range after a brilliant run and delivery from Eric Antwi down the flank to shatter the hosts’ resistance.

The decisive late goal not only secured maximum points for the visitors but also ended Dreams’ impressive five-match unbeaten home streak. It was a tight and tactical first half, with both sides struggling to carve out clear opportunities. Dreams showed composure in spells, while Karela remained patient in possession but failed to find a breakthrough before the interval.

After the restart, Karela returned with renewed intensity and belief. Antwi proved a constant threat on the wing, repeatedly stretching the Dreams backline and forcing them into defensive retreat as the visitors steadily seized control of the tempo.

His persistence ultimately paid off deep into added time, when his pinpoint delivery created the winning moment that handed the “Pride and Passion” back-to-back league victories for the first time in weeks.

For Dreams, the defeat deepens a concerning slide. Nicknamed “The Still Believe,” they are now winless in four consecutive league matches and have slipped from 11th to 14th place on 26 points, hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Karela’s triumph, meanwhile, lifts them to seventh and injects fresh momentum ahead of their next fixture against Eleven Wonders, while Dreams must regroup quickly before travelling to Abrankese to face Nations FC in a crucial response test.
