The General Manager of Dreams FC, Ameenu Shardow, has expressed frustration over what he perceives as sabotage by the National Sports Authority (NSA) after images and videos surfaced showing Baba Yara Stadium being utilised by children ahead of the crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash with Zamalek.
The stadium, currently the sole internationally approved venue in Ghana, is slated to host the semi-final second leg between Dreams FC and Zamalek on Sunday afternoon.
However, concerns have arisen regarding the stadium’s condition, as it has been open to children for recreational activities, leaving parts of it not in a great state.
Shardow expressed his dismay at the situation, citing filth in various areas of the stadium. Sokacenta.com understands that both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) security officer and Match commissioner have taken note of the stadium’s condition, potentially leading to serious sanctions.
“National Sports Authority, Ghana why have you decided to sabotage Dreams Football Clubs?” Ameenu wrote on his social media platforms.
While the NSA, responsible for stadium management, may have valid reasons for their actions, Dreams FC feel their efforts are being undermined.
The club are looking forward to make history by becoming the first Ghanaian team to reach a major final of a CAF club competition in nearly two decades.
Earlier this week, Dreams FC announced the match will be free for fans in popular and center-line stands with VIP&VVIP 20 and 50 cedis respectively.
