German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the signing of promising Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Norkplim Setordjie from Accra Lions, adding another exciting young talent to their ranks.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joins the Eagles after impressing during his time with the Ghanaian club, where he developed into one of the country’s brightest emerging prospects.
Setordjie leaves Accra Lions after making 52 league appearances across the Ghana Premier League and the Division One League, scoring six goals and providing 13 assists in three seasons with the club.
His move comes shortly after Accra Lions’ youth team visited Germany for a series of friendly matches against Eintracht Frankfurt’s Under-19 side, winning both encounters 3-1 and 4-1. The successful tour further strengthened the relationship between the two clubs and paved the way for Setordjie’s transfer.
Eintracht Frankfurt will now oversee the next phase of the midfielder’s development as he begins his European journey with one of the Bundesliga’s most established clubs.
The transfer marks another significant step in Setordjie’s career and continues the growing trend of talented Ghanaian youngsters securing opportunities in Europe’s top leagues.
