Emmanuel Addai has reaffirmed his strong desire to represent Ghana at senior level, revealing that earning a place in the Black Stars squad remains one of his biggest career ambitions.
The forward, who plays for Azerbaijani champions FK Qarabag, says he is patiently waiting for an opportunity despite not yet receiving a call-up from the national team handlers.
Addai has enjoyed a notable European campaign and currently stands as the only Ghanaian player to score in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
His contributions helped Qarabag progress to the knockout stage before their journey ended against Newcastle United.
In an interview with 3Sports, the attacker admitted he has not been contacted by the Black Stars technical team but remains optimistic.
“No, I haven’t had any contact yet [with the Black Stars], but I believe they’ve seen my performances. Everything happens in God’s time. I’m not in a hurry.”
He emphasised that playing for Ghana would mean more to him than individual success abroad.
“I really want to represent Ghana because I love my country. I grew up watching Ghana lose finals, and I want to help bring joy to my people.”
Addai added that his ultimate goal is to leave a lasting impact through national service.
“I want to be remembered not just for playing abroad but for doing something meaningful for Ghana because I really love Ghana.”
The 23-year-old has scored four goals in all competitions this season and continues to build a strong case for inclusion as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
