The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced Gold Fields Ghana Limited as the new headline sponsor of the Ghana Women’s Premier League, marking a major boost for women’s football in the country.
The partnership signals a significant investment in the domestic women’s game and reflects the GFA’s continued efforts to strengthen the league through strategic collaborations aimed at improving its growth, visibility and long-term sustainability.
Gold Fields Ghana takes over as headline sponsor following the conclusion of the league’s partnership with Malta Guinness, ushering in a new chapter for the competition ahead of the upcoming season.
In a statement, the GFA welcomed the agreement and expressed optimism about the impact the sponsorship will have on the continued development of women’s football in Ghana.
“The partnership represents a significant investment in the women’s game and underscores the GFA’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the Women’s Premier League through strategic collaborations that enhance its competitiveness, visibility, and long-term sustainability,” the Association said.
The Football Association also thanked Gold Fields Ghana Limited for its commitment to the growth of the sport and officially welcomed the company into the Ghana football family.

The GFA noted that further information regarding the sponsorship agreement, including details of the sponsorship package, the unveiling of the league’s new identity and implementation plans, will be announced in due course.
