GFA Supports Widows in Accra Through Special Donation Outreach

Ghana Football Association officials visited two Catholic churches in Accra to donate items to widows as part of the federation’s community support activities ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The delegation, led by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, presented hampers to 50 widows at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Kpehe and St Anthony Catholic Church in Achimota.

The items distributed included rice, cooking oil, tomato puree, mackerel and African wax print fabric.

The outreach programme was organised to strengthen ties between the football community and vulnerable groups while promoting compassion and unity.

During the visit, the widows expressed gratitude to the Football Association for the support and offered prayers for the Black Stars ahead of Ghana’s participation at the FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The event also featured moments of fellowship, songs of praise and interactions between the football officials and members of the congregations.

Officials who joined the exercise included Samuel Aboabre, Simon Ehomah, Michael Osekre and Malcolm Frazier, alongside church representatives from both parishes.
