Ghana has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, marking a return after nearly three decades.
The President of the Ghana Football Association, who also serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, made the announcement on his official Facebook page, stating that Ghana will host the 2027 U-20 AFCON.
The tournament will serve as a qualification pathway to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, giving participating nations the opportunity to compete for a place on the global stage.
As hosts, Ghana automatically qualifies for the competition and will welcome other African nations aiming to secure qualification for the World Cup.
Ghana last hosted the tournament in 1999, where they finished as runners-up after beating to Nigeria on penalties in the final.
