AJ Auxerre midfielder Elisha Owusu has expressed his desire to feature for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the opportunity as a significant milestone in his career.
The Black Stars are preparing for their fifth appearance at the global tournament, where they have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
Owusu, who represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, acknowledged that playing at another Mundial would be a great honour and blessing. However, the 28-year-old emphasised that he prefers to focus on his daily development and trust the process rather than dwell too much on future tournaments.
Ghana will regroup in March for international friendly matches against Austria and Germany as part of their build-up to the competition.
The Black Stars are scheduled to begin their 2026 World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23. They will wrap up their group-stage fixtures with a clash against Croatia on June 27.
