Ghana are set to face Tanzania in an international friendly during the September international window as Carlos Queiroz continues to assess his squad ahead of the next phase of his tenure.
The Taifa Stars have confirmed the friendly as part of their plans for the extended international break, with the fixture expected to provide both teams with an opportunity to test their squads ahead of their respective assignments.
The Black Stars will first turn their attention to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they have been drawn in Group F alongside Côte d’Ivoire and Gambia.
Queiroz’s side are scheduled to open their qualifying campaign against Côte d’Ivoire before hosting Gambia in their second group fixture.
Ghana are then expected to take on Tanzania several days later, giving Queiroz another chance to evaluate his players and work on his plans as he continues to build the team.
Tanzania will also use the friendly as part of their preparations for the 2027 AFCON. The Taifa Stars have been drawn alongside Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar in their qualifying group and, as co-hosts of the tournament, will also be looking to build a competitive squad ahead of the competition on home soil.
