Ghana U-17 national team will step up preparations for the 2026 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations with two friendly matches against FC Samartex 1996 at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samraboi.
The young Black Starlets are scheduled to face Samartex’s youth team on Saturday at 16:00 GMT, as the technical staff continues to evaluate the squad and strengthen match fitness ahead of the continental tournament.
A day later, on Sunday, March 15, the Starlets will return to the same venue to take on Samartex’s senior team in another preparatory fixture, also set to kick off at 16:00 GMT.
The back-to-back friendlies are part of Ghana’s broader build-up plan for the competition, with the coaching staff aiming to test tactical organisation, squad depth and overall readiness.
During their ongoing training camp, the team has already played several warm-up matches against local sides including True Democracy FC, Port City FC, Attram De Visser Academy, Semper Fi FC and Golden Kick FC.
Team officials believe the upcoming games against Samartex will provide another valuable opportunity for the coaches to assess individual performances and fine-tune their tactical approach as the young Ghanaian side continues its preparations for the U-17 AFCON.
